Overview & Location Situated in Ukkinadka, on the Mundayathadukka–Puthige road, about 30 km south of Kasaragod town. Foundation stone laid in 2013, but visible construction momentum began around 2016, under the stewardship of then Health Minister K. K. Shailaja
Campus Infrastructure Administrative and academic block completed. It hosts outpatient services, labs, classrooms, a pharmacy, X‑ray, and OP counters Campus amenities include boys’ and girls’ hostels, library, sports complexes, cafeteria, first-aid clinic, Wi‑Fi, and ATM
Hospital Block Construction The hospital block, a 500-bed, 5-storey structure, began after 2018 with an original completion target of May 2020. As of December 2022, only the administrative block was done; hospital electrification tender floated and work commenced under the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) with an approved fund of ₹160 crore. By early 2025, electrification and initial works are ongoing, though the hospital is not yet fully functional.
Accreditation & Medical Course Timeline To launch an MBBS program, the college needs: Fully functional hospital with ≥200 beds, ICU, operation theatres, etc. Two years of consistent clinical operation. With hospital block expected to become operational by mid-to-late 2026, the earliest MBBS intake could start mid‑2025 to 2026—pending NMC approval .
